For developers looking into writing their own server for Toontown Online, keep in mind that this is an incredibly outdated build of the game from 2003, labelled as "sv1.0.7.12". The latest version of the game's client from before it's closure in 2013 is "sv1.0.47.38". The internet is your friend here.

You can also provide input on a fan-made open-source decompilation for the game found on GitHub @ https://github.com/open-toontown/

Alternatively, consider applying to join the volunteers on the Toontown Rewritten staff to help keep the game alive and provide it new content. Applications can be found on their website. Keep in mind that it is a completely voluntary project, and you will not receive compensation for your efforts.

If you're reading this, just know that this game is essentially unplayable as it required an internet connection to Disney's self-hosted servers, which are long gone.

You can play select versions of Toontown Online throughout it's history, through the fan-run service called Toontown Archive, that hosts servers for them that can be played for free @ https://toontownarchive.com/
