The description at CHAMP Games Fan Page says it all about this excellent remake of ATARI’s classic arcade shooter Asteroids: "Based on CHAMP Asteroids, this version offers superb graphics, Soundblaster support and enhanced gameplay that truly makes you feel like you're in an arcade! A completely re-designed user interface is now easier and more powerful than before.
A complete remake of the look and feel has created a truly enjoyable game. The object of CHAMP Asterocks is to clear out sectors of asteroids. You control a spaceship that you must maneuver to avoid the asteroids and enemy spaceships that attack from the sides.
Note that there are two different game modes: Classic Mode plays more like the arcade, CHAMP Mode includes the Classic Mode with more enhancements, including more asteroids, mines, shields, and Asterock Bosses! Vector graphics are more similar to the games of the early 80's. You can only use vector graphics in Classic Mode. Color graphics are supported in both Classic and CHAMP mode. Color mode features full 256 color 3D graphics."
CHAMP games are notable for excellent graphics, faithful recreation of arcade originals, and a smooth, addictive gameplay that brings the much-loved classic to a new generation of gamers, as well as old-timers who will enjoy the CHAMP levels. If you love the arcade original, you will doubtless enjoy this wonderful remake from one of the best shareware companies in the business. Two thumbs up, way up!

Can't play this one in the browser, keeps saying "Unable to change to asterock."

OK, this is getting silly. Clearly the person who is reviewing all of these CHAMP titles is a spammer giving nearly identical rave reviews. The aren't bad game, but "Two thumbs up! Way Up!" is a bit like having every meal be spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spametty spam wonderful spam!!!!!
