Here is the video game “Dark Horizon”! Released in 2008 on Windows, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's an action and simulation game, set in a sci-fi / futuristic, shooter, space flight and space combat themes.

There is a slight bit of confusion on my end.
The ISO file provided installs as version 1.5.1.2.
However, the patches range to version 1.0.8.0. This seems like a HUGE downgrade, and I have to wonder: Why do the patches exist for download? Is there more stability in the previous versions that the game patches to?

Patch v1.0.6.0 -1.0.8.0b are incorrectly named. the patches check for proper file name before executing. they should be DH_1.0.6.0 , 1.0.6.1 , DH_1.0.7.0 , and DH_1.0.8.0b . Patch v1 gave question marks instead of text in the extraction window. Worked around this by opening with 7zip. Patch v2 I didn't try because it caused some confusion(it was far less polished than v1.0.6.0 -1.0.8.0b) which made me suspect it may have been made before those but I can't confirm it so left uninstalled. So far haven't tested beyond getting the the title screen.
