Description of Dominium

Dominium is one of the early real-time strategy game that focus on planet conquest and resource management - as they have become so common nowadays.

Overall fairly poor and far inferior to similar games such as Dune 2. Although the game plays from an attractive isometric viewpoint with many structures to build and resources to gather, it quickly degenerates into a game of "build as many units as possible to overwhelm the enemy." There is not nearly enough variety in the game to accommodate strategies other than outright military aggression, and diplomacy and economic models are severely flawed.

All in all, a worthy attempt by Microids in the (back then) niche genre, but everyone is well advised to stick to Dune 2 and 4X classics for their galactic conquest fix.

The 2 MB DOS version "Dominium_DOS_FR.zip" does include the long intro movie and actually contains 3 languages: French, English and German
The included batch file just doesn't offer you the proper language options, also the language parameter for the intro is different to GAME.EXE.

I've added a proper batch modification: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Dominium_1992_alt

Never mind.
I realized my mistake. When you install the game from the command it creates another directory and screws up your device. A common mistake gamers make. I still did run into games that were already nestled though, so to everyone here and also My Abandonware.
DON'T NESTLE GAMES. It screws up whatever device is trying to run those games, ok?
Thank you

Quick word on the packing of the zip file.
Stop nestling directories. What kinda sense does it make placing the files inside a directory - inside another directory and another. You're screwing up those trying to play these games. The archive has the program inside a Dominium directory and that one is inside another Dominium directory. When I was trying to play it it would slow to a crawl my whole phone, WTF is wrong with y'all? Are y'all that fkn bored y'all have to screw around with us like that?
I copied everything out of the nestled Dominium directory up to the previous directory level and deleted the nestled Dominium directory. Now it's working fine.
It's not the first game I saw y'all do that with...
CUT IT OUT, OK?

From the looks of it I'd say it does have similarities to Warcraft and AOE although in a more simplistic kinda way. I'd say is pretty advanced considering it's ONLY 383 kilobytes on Dos. I understand that the reviewers must consider features when it comes to games and programs offered on this page, but one feature I haven't seen being considered by neither the reviewers or the public making the comments here is the features of programming vs. program SIZE. I think Microids did a better job than most, at least most of the developers I've seen so far, in packing as much as possible in an elegant way as possible the many features and options I see in the game according to the images present. I would request for those offering these programs as well as those of us players benefitting from this site, to take size into consideration when it comes to gaming, don't y'all think?
