There's no english patch out there, the patched version here is patched to be able to run on modern hardware, it doesn't patch it to english, the unpatched version is well... unpatched won't run on moder hardware, also got the game working myself after changing non standard ascii characters to jappanese or whatever it was called however i did have a problem where after getting out of the first room when you are on the field the envoirment is only visible when i move between tiles, if i am just standing on one it all goes black, on boot up after changing some settings in the launcher the envoirment does display but it's all purple shaded, no idea how to fix it to show envoirment properly

after fiddling with this for a few hours, I've gotten the game to work fine after switching my locale to japan and downloading some japanese text pack through Microsoft (in the control panel), but there's absolutely no English in the English patch version.
I tried running Chiitrans lite to translate the game text, like I saw on a youtube video, but I can't get that set up to work because I cannot for the life of me run this game windowed. It's full screen by default and alt+enter or anything else won't work.

I was able to fix the garbled text by switching my locale to japan, but now all the text is japanese (in the patched version), anybody get the english patch working?

It says this is fully patched but when trying to load it all the text is garbled making it unplayable
