Description of Jimmy Connors Pro Tennis Tour

Great tennis simulation by Blue Byte, offering nice gameplay, good graphics and sound (although lacking the samples and speech of the Amiga game), a great tournament mode, player profiles and very fun doubles matches.

An enjoyable multi-player game but thanks to the RPG-style player development and the overall fun gameplay, there's also enough to keep you motivated in single-player mode. Funny to note that the original game came with a pair of sun glasses! Sure, the quality of these was very low: the glasses were pitch black so that you couldn't really see through them and the neon-green made them look very freaky. =) But it's a pity that such little gimmicks are hardly seen with any new games these days. You should also check out the predecessor Great Courts, which came out one year earlier.

Great Courts 2 is definitely one of the best tennis games ever made. Two thumbs up!

Don`t understand what "Great Courts 2" on Amiga, should have to do with "Jimmy Connors Pro Tennis Tour" on the SNES? These are two totally different games and they also have different playing-mechanics. "Great Courts 2" is good, but "Jimmy Connors Pro Tennis Tour" is absolutly superb Game, which i love.

DosBox 0.74 + Win7 (64bit) - Works Great

I only was testing to see if I wanted to keep this game for future gaming or toss it. I got more out of it in the first couple minutes than I did with another tennis program I tried in the abandonware category.

It turned out to be a joystick game - but I didn't mess with settings either. The gameplay seemed a little weird - one time on on the lower part of the screen facing away from the "player/you" and the next thing I know I'm on top of the screen facing the player - completely reversing my vantage/playing point of view. I couldn't serve to save my life - the trick to it? I dunno yet.

when the ball was actually moving it was like PONG but you need to position your player dude so that when you press the fire/swing button - the ball is on the left or right of you enough so racket hits the ball - makes sense.. I can see getting into this game and maybe for hours - who knows - at least 1/2 to Hour per session :)

Thumbs Up!
