Lemmings - Play Online
DOS - 1991
For small DOS games like Lemmings, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer...). This feature is still experimental, the game may not work properly. Warning: game save should work, but you should try it early! Also, be careful to select the right game executable in the list below.
Emulator configuration
You have to choose the right game executable, then press PLAY.
To exit fullscreen mode, press escape. Playing experience can be poor due to your browser or your computer. Download Lemmings and launch it with DOSBox to have the best playing experience!
If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

INSTRUCTIONS TO PLAY
1 - A screen will be displayed asking what GRAPHICS ADAPTER you want to use. It doesnt matter what you press it will exit to a terminal.
2 - type "LEMMINGS.BAT" without the quotes, then press enter.
3 - The same GRAPHICS ADAPTER menu from earlier will be displayed. Press 4 for VGA.
4 - Press 1 for PC Compatibles. The other options will result in graphics errors.
5 - Enjoy Lemmings!

I played and enjoyed a lot this game in 1991, and now I showed it to my 10 years old daughter, she loved playing lemmings even if it's not a recent 3d game, she said that we had a lot of chance playing this type of game when we were young. :)
PS:
To run the game just type "lemmings" and choose VGA then, high performence PC.
I reached level 16 and surely will continue next time

run and start didn't work, so i typed "vgalemmi" in the field and that finally took me to a few numbered lists that i used to start the game (just hit "1" and enter a few times). worked the first time, but it crashed in level two. restarted after that and it said the disc couldn't be found, so i gave up

I'm on Windows 10. Run LEMMINGS.BAT, VGA, High end PC worked for me, although the colors were (kinda) terrible. The game runs fine. Relived the times I played this on my mom's Nokia and destroyed the arrrows button.

Sometimes it doesn't start. Randomly trying to execute the .bat files usually works after some time.

When I press F1, F3 etc. my browser catches the key before so I cannot start the game.

In DOS: Try the command lemmi (for lemmi.bat). Than choose VGA.. Worked for me.

Works for me in the emulator above, HOWEVER.
one - click into the dos box above before you press 1 or 2
Note that the executable used vgalemmi.exe doesn't work because it's looking for the cd driver that isn't available.
so when you get back to the command prompt run vlem2.exe
voila!

I could not get the game to start -- stuck at the "1 for vga, 2 for ega" screen, as pressing 1 or 2 did nothing.
