Ignore Blahblahs's comments above. He's commenting on Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel

Anyway, on to Police Quest II. This game continues on from where the first game took off. Jessie Bains, arrested and sentenced to a life sentence without the possibility of parole, has been awarded a retrial due to 'improper jury conduct'.

While awaiting trial, he escapes, takes the jailer hostage, and plots his revenge against all those that testified against him after the events of the first game

It turns personal when he kidnaps your girlfriend to ultimately get his revenge against you

One of the most nerveracking endings to an adventure game. Brilliant

An absolute improvement on the first game. Better game engine with Adlib sound. The depth of investigation (although seemingly inconsequential in many cases) also adds an extra element. The driving is improved, as you no longer drive. This takes away some of the tedium.

My biggest gripe with the game is Keith - your detective partner. He's useless - smoking the entire time. His only contribution is shoving Woody Roberts' corpulent corpse in the back of the hearse, and catching a mugger at Steelton Park, after you tell him to catch him. Personally, I think he should have become a victim. It would save the taxpayer plenty of money.

This game is aptly titled, "The Revenge." The lengths to which Bains works on the run to achieve his goals is a great story, with the personal element, this is one adventure game that stands above many. Absolutely worth a play. I have done so many, many times.

Still remember the plane scene.
I always wondered who will shoot inside of a plane.

One of those adventure games where a score tracks how well you do things The game rewards you for following police procedures, like remembering to grab a walkie talkie when at the station and such. The driving portions of the game are an utter nightmare, as it's easy to wreck your car or not know where to go. Can also turn into a pixel hunt looking around environments for things, and not knowing what to do or where to go. Overall, not a bad game if you like old-school adventure games.

I agree with ROGER WILCO. Same for me, copy protection does not allow me to play. http://www.sierragamers.com/aspx/m/634055 is no help. :-(

weird, I'm using the mugshot sheet from the link above, but none of the pics corresponds to the names in the sheet!

Sorry Bonds, you'll need to do better than that! is all what I get... :(

Awesome! I have played this game so much as a little kid. It's super to be able to play it again. On Windows 7. Using DosBox.

For every one else that wants to play this game: It has copy protection. They show a mugshot, and you have to give the name of the criminal before you can play the game. Go to this website:

Scroll down to Policequest 2, and it has all the mugshot sheet.

Happy playing every one!
