How to play The Legend of the Prophet & the Assassin Windows

Running the game on modern systems is possible by installing it on a Virtual Machine with Windows 98 with installed drivers (MS Virtual PC - under Windows XP / Vista / 7 or VMware Workstation - under Windows 2000 and higher).

In case of problems with sound (incomplete phrases, stuttering), disable its hardware acceleration (Start -> Run -> Type "dxdiag" without quotes -> OK -> Go to the "Sound" tab -> Move the slider for hardware acceleration of sound to the "Disabled" position "-> Exit).

If the game can not be installed by the standard method on Windows 7/8/10 (Setup.exe can not access the TEMP folder in the Windows directory), then perform the following: Copy the entire disk 1 (the install and Directx folders are not required) to the directory on your hard disk, then copy all files from disk 2 to same directory, after that change the Legend.ex_ file extension to EXE and start the game from it (you can also use Legend.exe from NoCD).

If your have problem with saving, use the fix by Opr - an alternative .exe file that fixes the problem with saving the game on modern OS.
