Please...
as someone already mentioned below, the game crashes every time in the first 10 seconds of track 2 in England. Tried all 3 files and also elsewhere. Does anyone have an idea what causes this? Or a solution? I've been looking for a way to resolve this for a long time.
ENGLAND Championship! TRACK 2! Help.

VRally 2 is like 2 games in one.
On console with digital input it's super easy , but with analogic input ( PC or on console with a steering wheel ) it's difficult.

ABOUT the HANDLING :
This game was supposed to be played following the instructions of the OFFICIAL guide (wich was sold separatedly).
For each surface , you were supposed to use the right tire , right setup and right driving technique.

In fact you must focus on your rythm and not your speed to stay safe.

Got the guide back in the day , which make VRally 2 one of my favorite racing game of the time.

I have a problem with the game. When I start the second track of the English championship, the game crashes. I tried to run the game on win 10 and 7, the same problem everywhere. Can someone help me? I really want to play this game/

Well, I'd like to report that the rip version works just fine. You will need the dgvoodo2 wrapper dlls copied in the game folder. No need to use any compatibility options either. No need to run the launcher (LaunchVR.exe) both direct draw and voodoo versions run just fine (run VRdirectx.exe or VRvoodoo.exe directly).

Too bad the handling sucks: Although the game has analog controls for both gas/brake and steering (I used an xbox compatible controller and it mapped everything perfectly!!!!), it only uses a part of the triggers and stick travel distance. If you only use 2-3 millimeters of your stick and triggers, it behaves really good. But it is infuriating. Maybe one day I'll use "joystick gremlin" to adjust the sensitivity of my controller and post back my findings. bye

Both of these versions are WRONG. V-Rally 97 Championship Edition came with audio tracks and it is NOT possible to store such an image as an .iso You need to store it as a .bin/cue. If anyone wants the PROPER fully V-Rally '97 Championship Edition, contact me: the.welder@hotmail.co.uk

PC version suffers from texture warp (textures change shapes when you get up close) something the Playstation 1 suffered from in almost all its games. There's no graphics options, so your stuck with low res unless you use a glide wrapper.
The handling in the PC version is horrible. I would recommend N64 version which doesn't suffer from texture warp, actually has better texures and the handling is so much better, you can also get higher resolution with emulation.

In regards to the rip version both the vrvd.dll and vrdx.dll show as malicious on a few AV engines, total virus results:

18/67 detected vrvd.dll as malicious

13/67 detected vrdx.dll as malicious

These may indeed be False positives but you do not need these files to run the game with any of the included .exes, you can still use 3DFX and directX .exes without them, which makes you wonder what these files are for.

The iso file was clean and it worked great! there was no issues all i had to do was install it and play no need for changing the compatibility or use a patch it worked great!! And i'm on window's 10!

Also this game is awesome but i have one thing to say the controls are very jerky like i mean you press the key to turn and its very sudden but don't let that keep you from playing! but other than that its super fun!

For the rip version there is no setup file!
