Battle City originally came out for FamiCom in 1985. It's actually a modernized and enhanced version of Tank Battalion. I definitely recommend that given it has a simultaneous double player mode. It has a construction option, but it's disposable - you're unable to save your field as FamiCom cartridges didn't have a memory card or anything like that. But is it for the rom unavailability for Nintendo and its case from 2018 (if not earlier)? I mean - the roms for Nintendo's Family Computer and Nintendo Entertainment System have been no longer available to download since then.
The arcade rom present here is for... Vs. Battle City - a rather average conversion for coin-op machines. I played that and I'll tell you this disappointed me. You don't have an option to choose a stage before play - FamiCom version let you start from stages 1 to 35; you had to press [A] to go 1 stage forward, [B] to go back 1 stage and [START] to confirm your choice. You don't have this choice in the coin-op rom (yes, you start from stage 01!). The Vs. rom has a few stages swapped. You can look up on YouTube - there's 1 vid which will show you some stages are maybe the same as in Battle City, but in different order. You can also play Vs. Battle City in a coin-op rom emulator (if you don't trust YT or want to try yourself), but still I definitely encourage this conversion.
In short - the FamiCom rom is missing here. Why?
