Appreciate the comments explaining how to get this running guys :) couldn't get the iso's setup file to run on windows 11, but the rip version, with 3dfx glide and remembering to unpack the sound works perfectly. Having to youtube the cutscenes is a shame but its not a huge issue.

Thank you so much for this. I played the demo that came in a PC mag and replayed that mission so many times as a child. Brings back memories and I can finally play the entire game!

Faz o download da versão RIP e descomprima.
Tem que estar com o Nglide instalado.
Não instale patchs.

How the Singleplayer worked for me with dgVoodoo2 to fix the "glide not found" error.
1. Use the RIP Version and follow RYOabndonware's advice for the sounds.
2. Donwload dgVoodoo2. In the MS/x86 folder of it there are the files D3DImm.dll and DDraw.dll. Copy them in the main folder of the RIP Version where also game.exe is located. Maybe run dgVoodoo one time. Start game.exe, go to configurate and change to Direct3D. You can choose a higher resolution up to 1920x1080. Enjoy the game, but:
3. DON'T Patch! It creates the "floating point error" which crashes the game shortly after starting a mission.

Hallo zusammen,
weiß irgend jemand, warum die Demo-Version ohne Probleme läuft, aber die Vollversion viele Probleme macht?

Fun fact, this was build on a brand new engine, and that engine was later used for Battlefield 1942!

I get a "floating point error" when loading into the mission, after the mission briefing.
Any idea on how to fix this?
Thank you!

HOW TO EASILY PLAY THIS ON WINDOWS !) WITH WORKING SAVES AND SOUND:
1. download the most recent version of nGlide and run the setup
2. download the RIP version of codename eagle and extract it
3. open the extracted codename eagle folder and look for the windows batch file named "unpack", open it and let it finish running
4. open game.exe and play! (NOTE: make sure in the "configuration", that the driver is set to 3dfx) (NOTE2: cutscenes still won't work, if you want you could still watch the cutscenes on youtube) (FINALNOTE: Multiplayer still probably won't work, codenameeagle.net has a guide for setting up multiplayer)

The sound files in the RIP version are not gone. Just run unpack.bat and it will unpack the sound files. The game is playable so far in Windows 11. Some graphics glitches, and it crashes after saving game, but it's playable.

For me, the setup does not work (the ISO version).
It just starts as a process and never shows any window or progress of any kind. What is weird it also does not appear to "not respond". It just sits there.

When downloading the iso version, I cant seem to run the setup. Has anyone been able to make it work? The Zip version of the game works for me, but of course, there's no sound.

Hello friends! I would like to inform you that a group of CE lovers have spun up a dedicated server runnig 24/7 for Codename Eagle. The big games tend to happen on the weekends, but it's always online. We also have a version that is multiplayer only and works flawlessly on Windows 10. Installation Guide:
RIP Version (No Patches):
The RIP version works as soon as you un-zip it, however the sound files are gone. I do not know what happened to them, but you will play with no sound. All you have to do is run "game.exe", you might have to go in the properties and make it run as an administrator and run some compatibility settings, but it should work of the bat.
ISO Version:
Assuming you do not have the actual disk, un-zip the downloaded folder, now you will need a program named PowerISO or any other ISO program. Right click on the ISO file and go down to the PowerISO tab and choose "Mount image to drive [E:] " If it says any other letter than "E" you're fine, it depends on the PC. So in the file explorer on the left click the Virtual Drive and copy and paste everything into a separate folder (Named whatever you want, I'd put it on your desktop). Go into the folder you created and run "Setup.exe". Install it where-ever you want. DO NOT RUN THE GAME YET! Download "Patch 1.42" and run it and extract everything in the same folder you installed the game, not the folder you copied and pasted the Virtual Drive contents. Click "Yes to all" and after a bit the extraction should be done. Next download and run "Patch 1.43", make sure you patch it where you installed the game. Now you're done! If you did it correctly you should see "ce.exe" in the folder run that and you can play! Also, MAKE SURE YOU SET THE DRIVER TO "3Dfx" IN THE CONFIGURATION MENU OR ELSE THE GAME WILL CRASH WHEN YOU LOAD A MISSION.
