On Linux: go to a website called "gog-games.to", or grab a Tor Browser and look for something called "Doom 3" on the Pirate Bay. The GOG version is best. Install under wine or Heroic Launcher. Look for a flatpak called "Doom BFA" install. Sorted!

Unfortunately the game is not abandonware like the Unreal games. While the original Doom 3 was indeed delisted, it can still be bought on Steam in a package that contains the original, the expansion pack and the BFG. And the new pack is also more expensive, and it makes you buy two games you probably aren't interested in anyway. Bummer. :(

Would love to get the original unedited version of Doom 3 on my PC. Do still have the original Xbox version and got the PS3 remaster but its just not the same. Did nit like the alterations to levels and the fact they got rid of cheats. Cheating in doom was almost as iconic as the game itself(I mean who doesn't remember god mode?) so I was really pissed to see they left cheats out in favor of some dumb useless trophy/achievement system the game never even needed. Please post the original unaltered Doom 3 somewhere.
