Grand Prix Circuit

Description of Grand Prix Circuit
An early racing game that features all Grand Prix tracks and decent computer opponents. Climb into the cramped quarters of a Formula One race car as you race through overpasses, treacherous tunnels, snake-like curves and sharp corners. As in real-life Grand Prix, accumulate points on the circuit to become the world's best driver.
Overall, a solid arcade-style racing game that's short on realism but long on sheer fun. Two thumbs up for this underdog.

This feels more like a driving simulator than a racing game. Generally I either win the race easily or I crash out completely with a DNF next to my name. I don't normally end up somewhere in the middle after finishing a race. There is a big difference between the easiest and hardest difficulty levels, but once you get to first position, it's very easy to get way ahead of the other cars no matter the difficulty, so you cannot really lose the race from that point forward unless you damage your car. (Over-revving your engine for 3 seconds on manual will kill it.) If I am in first position, and I'm playing a race with more than 12 laps, I can even get so far ahead of the other cars that I later approach the car in last position in front of me! It's still a good game though. It's just a pity there are only 10 racing cars instead of the minumum of 20 in real Formula 1 racing, and that there are only 3 cars to choose from, and that there are only 8 tracks to choose from instead of 16. Plus the AI and catch-up logic of the other cars is not realistic. The other cars often drive very slow no matter the difficulty, but the main reason why it can be difficult to overtake them is because it's very difficult to avoid bumping and crashing into them. If these little things could have been fixed properly and accounted for, this game could definitely have been one of the best F-1 / Grand Prix games ever made.

Fairly good game with decent representations of the tracks apart from the street ones being in open countryside!
I managed to win on the easy levels but the harder ones were almost impossible to do well.

This was one of my friends favorite games. Played it a few times at his house. Ok if you like racing games.

I played it as a child too. And nevertheless never came to like cars, instead I became a pedestrian and public transit user only and a person strongly opposed to using cars in cities. :)

I spent many hours playing this game as a 9 year old. Learned all about the concept of manual transmissions here LOL.

Игра замечательная, очень много играл в неё в середине 90-х. И сейчас очень неплохо выглядит и неплохо играется.
