Curious game indeed.

A knight, a street urchin, a senile old man and a furry take turns wrecking their neighborhoods in search of items, gunning down any residents who try offering even a modicum of resistance to their wanton behavior.

After the spree of vandalism and murders has concluded, this band of boozers huddles together in a bullet hell and drunkenly pirouettes around after stepping on an arrow, whether on purpose or by accident. The arrows are to be obeyed.

While staying in this symbolic purgatory, they spend hours upon hours figuring out who must end up in the front row in order bypass whatever bizarre trap happens to come up next. Thanks to their lack of initiative, way too many runs end with the wrong stooge manning the front, resulting in an unavoidable demise and a sisyphean retry.

Even the statues dwelling in this infernal realm hate them enough to come to life, assisting the local demons in tormenting them for their mortal sins.

After each failure, the player is always reminded to help the princess, as that's what it's all about. The neighborhood was never repaired and the surviving population migrated away. The ruins left behind remain with the nature slowly reclaiming them to this day.
