I'm going to try to address several issues I see posted here, so here it goes.

To those having issues that the game won't go beyond a certain screen, that is because your installation folder has "read-only" attributes so Windows blocks the game from writing into its own files. Writing occurs whenever you make a new game profile or save a current game progress or game settings thus causing all sorts of issues. This can even freeze the game.

To fix this, simply go to your game installation folder, right-click, go to properties, and at the bottom, unselect or uncheck the "read-only" box and hit ok.

To those of you having registry errors, this is because your registry installation path does not match the game installation path.

Let me elaborate on this.
For example, If you install the game into this folder:
C:\My Games\Point of View, Inc\NFL Blitz2K

Then your registry should look like this:

"BLITZ2K_INSTALL_PATH"="C:\\My Games\\Point of View, Inc\\NFL Blitz2K"

To verify your registry, simply press the Windows Key + R, type in regedit, and hit enter.

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Point of View, Inc.\NFL Blitz2K\Archives

There, under archives, is a string called: "BLITZ2K_INSTALL_PATH"
This is where you can make changes to the values of the game path registry so it matches the path of the game installation folder.

To save changes, click OK

*TIP*: Don't install older games into "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)". Some old games have permission issues with some windows editions, especially on newer systems.
To fix this, make a folder and install your games into that folder instead.
For example C:\My Games\

Lastly, your graphics card might be too new and or no longer use obsolete features used in older games. If that is your case, this can prevent your game from running at all.

To fix, install 3dfx nGlide v2.10 from zeus software. Here's the link:

This will wrap up your game and allow it to run without the use of an older video card.

Make sure to use "Voodoo Banshe, Voodoo3" as your device driver.
Using this setting allows you to play this game up to 1600 x 1200 x 16bit flawlessly.

One last tip:
If you have a controller, USE IT! It is a nightmare navigating the game menus with a keyboard.

Easy to setup on the Steam Deck however the game refuses to progress to the team select screen

Run the Blitz2k_Graphics first in admin mode
Run the Launcher in admin mode as well.
Use enter key to get to main menu of game. Arrow keys to move through menu. Number key 1, 5, and 6 are your Turbo, Pass, Jump. You can configure your xbox series controller. Navigation is a hassle. Works good my PC. Windows 10.

Runs just fine on windows 10 in Windows XP compatibility mode and with the run this program as an administrator box checked.
