Download Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (Windows)

Your antivirus may trigger some warning on the archive with NoDVD, because of rld.dll file inside, but it is safe to use, here's VirusTotal report (all warnings are false positive, about unsafe/suspicious/possibly malicious file, usual thing with "cracks"). Just add that archive and rld.dll file to antivirus exceptions

The game with NoDVD has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, it works fine, the game supports widescreen and high resolutions up to 4K. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Guide and Notes for details

Before installation - if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - make sure that you enabled DirectPlay if you didn't make it before, read this or this guide how to do it (if you're using Windows 7 or older - just install DirectX from the disc)

Install & play guide:

• Mount the disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite
• Install the game (if autorun doesn't work - simply launch the installation from Setup.exe inside the disc)
• It is recommended to install the game not in default path, but in some other, non-system folder, like C:/Games/Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, so you won't have troubles with NoDVD
• After you installed the game - use NoDVD, simply copy all files from the archive and put it into game directory, agree to replace original files
• Open the directory with the game and find Game.exe. Right click on Game.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 7" and "Run as administrator"
• Run the game from Game.exe or Launcher.exe, and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows XP - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (Win98, Windows ME, Win2000, etc.)

What to do if the game doesn't run, crashes at the second launch or closes with no error the first cutscene:

• That happens when the game cannot read the values in Windows Registry and stuck on unsupported resolution. To fix it open Windows Registry editor (press Win+R and type "regedit.exe"), go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Activision/Spider-Man (TM) SD/Settings/Display path, select Width key and change the base to decimal, type into Value data your desired (supported) horizontal resolution. Then select Height key, change the base to decimal, type into Value data your desired (supported) vertical resolution. Check this guide for more details about that problem
• You can use pre-made Registry Fix, simply run .REG-file and it will automatically add the required Windows Registry paths. Also, there is a rare problem where the game does not start even for the first time, in that case use Registry Fix too, the game should run once the correct Registry paths are added
• If the game crashes after the first cutscene - use Registry Fix, also try to run the game in compatibility mode with Windows 95. If it didn't help - enter 800x600 screen resolution in Windows Registry (check the instruction above, here's also the video guide), run the game and complete that level in 800x600 resolution. After the game will make autosave - exit the game and copy savegame file somewhere on your folder, just in case
• Optionally, in Windows Registry you can choose any display and graphics settings, here's the guide about all possible graphics options

Notes:

• If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP)
• It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
• The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
• The game is using SecuROM DRM protection, which may have issues on modern systems and requires the disc for launch. NoDVD "breaks" DRM protection and allows to run the game without the disc
• There's a critical bug when the savegames files gets corrupted and cannot be loaded. To bypass it do the next steps: after you closed the game, go to Documents/Activision/Spider-Man (TM) SD/Save folder and rename Spider-Man SD Save.fpop file. The next time you run the game the savegame should be loaded with no problem. Also, make sure that you enabled .NET Framework 3.5 in your system - go to Control Panel - Programs, click on "Turn windows features on or off" and click + on .NET Framework 3.5, check everything, press OK to save the changes and restart your computer. Looks like that two things should solve the problem, check this thread for details
• If it didn't help and you still get error about corrupted savegame file, try another method: after you closed the game, go to same Documents/Activision/Spider-Man (TM) SD/Save folder, copy Spider-Man SD Save.fpop file somewhere on your hard drive, delete the original Spider-Man SD Save.fpop file from the folder and then put there the copy. • The game has stuttering problem, there's currently no fix for that. Here's some solutions that can help: select the lower screen resolution in graphics settings; select lower graphics effects settings; change the screen resolution in settings then switch back to previous resolution; run the game in Windowed mode (select it in game settings); enable or disable Vsync
• Also, if you have Nvidia video card, you can try to enable Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel, looks like it may help, check this thread for details. Another method - open Nvidia Control Panel, find the profile of the game and change Use Global Settings to High Performance NVIDIA Processor. Unfortunately, there's no such solutions for AMD video cards, because the game was optimized for Nvidia cards and works better with them
• One user pointed out that using DXVK may resolve stuttering problem. DXVK is Vulkan API translation layer that makes the game that use DirectX 9 - 11 to work through Vulkan API. So if you video card has support for Vulkan API - simply put dll-files of DXVK in game folder, next to Game.exe, it should fix or at least ease the stuttering problem. • For Windows 10 & 11 users: if the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows 7 - try to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 95 or Windows XP, also try to run from Launcher.exe and not Game.exe
• On some systems the game crashes on the first 2099 level, in the hallway after the first Hobgoblin fight. There's currently no fix for that, so if you have crashes at that or any other levels - use complete savegame file with game completed to 100% with all levels opened
• There's a bug when the game shows only a black screen and the HUD is visible. The fix for that bug is to d3dx9_43.dll in game folder, next to Game.exe and Launcher.exe. d3dx9_43.dll file can be downloaded here (we also mirrored the file on our website)
• If you cannot select any screen resolution in game settings and just get error, try to do the next steps: select Windowed mode in settings, then close the game and run it again, and go to settings before loading any level - now all screen resolutions should be available for choosing. If that error appears again - repeat the same steps. If you cannot select the Windowed mode in settings - close the game and enable it through Windows Registry, change Fullscreen parameter from 1 to 0
• If you have problem with broken sound effects or disappearing sound - set sound quality to 24 bit, 48000 Hz or 24 bit, 44100 Hz. Read this guide how to do that
• The installer of the game allows to choose one of 5 languages: English, French, German, Spanish & Italian. However, you cannot change the language in the game settings. But it is possible to change the language of the game through Windows Registry: open Registry Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/Activision/Spider-Man (TM) SD/Install path and change the number of Language parameter: 1 for English, 2 for French, 3 for Italian, 4 for German, 5 for Spanish. After you change it will look like "Language"=dword:00000001. Check this thread for more details
• There's a bug in game when the player's character froze after Grab Uppercut move (performed after unlocking by pressing Grab + Strong Attack), if you get that bug - reload the game from the last checkpoint
• By default the game has the framerate lock at 62 FPS, but it can be unlocked with Cheat Engine, here's the guide how to do that
