This brings back memories.
It has been cracked so any answer will work for the copy protection question at the start. As stated above, use A and Z to change through the auto gearbox. It starts in Neutral. Arrows for Accellerator, Brake and Steering. W for Wipers, H for Headlights, M to cycle through the music (Radio Station - 3 choices), R to blank out the Rearview mirror.
F2 to cycle the detail level (Low/Medium/High). F6 to return to the road if you're lost.
Watch your police scanner for police cars.

Okay so, when the game starts, at least here in the browser, you DON'T need the code wheel. I just entered 786 and the game worked. When you are in the car, press A to shift into Drive, press A again to shift into 2nd gear. Press Z to shift back to D, Z to shift into Neutral and Z again to shift into Reverse.
So press A to shift into Drive, then UP arrow for gas, DOWN arrow for brake, LEFT/RIGHT arrow to steer. Not really that complicated once you figure out what button does what. W for wipers, H for headlights. Simple. Not a great driving game. The roads are really ridiculous, and it can be difficult at times to keep the car on the road.
