Torin's Passage
DOS - 1995
Also released on: Windows 3.x - Mac
Description of Torin's Passage
A cartoon adventure that might as well be called "Sierra's Lost CD Game" due to the quick disappearance from store shelves months after its release, Torin's Passage is a diversion for Al Lowe (better known for Leisure Suit Larry) that aims to please young gamers with its charming graphics and relatively easy puzzles.
However, the average story, droll humor that are incomprehensible for targeted group and dry for adults, and short length makes it only slightly better than average. Recommended only as a diversion between games, budding young gamers, or to Al Lowe fans.

Unfortunately, I was unable to use the DOSBox game launcher solution in windows 10. It seems that windows 10, in general, doesn't play nice with DOSBox itself and it may need some adjustments that I can't help with. Windows 7 works just fine with the same method.

I was having trouble getting this to work, and Lucid's comment helped a lot. However, the "Add a Game Wizard" didn't add the game permanently to the library. Here's what I did:
Follow the first three steps Lucid suggested, namely:
1) Download Torin's Passage zip from this page
2) Download DBGL (DosBox Game Launcher) it's basically DosBox with a GUI front-end, which is nice - http://members.quicknet.nl/blankendaalr/dbgl/#download
3) Unzip DBGL, and run "Launch.exe"
And now it's different:
4) Click "Add Profile"
5) On "title" type "Torin's" and click the blue M to the right ("Consult mobygames" etc) and on popup window select Torin's Passage
6) Go to the Mouting tab (last tab of the profile window)
7) Here, you only have to set the ExecuteDOS files. For "Main", browse the SIERRAH.EXE file, and for "Setup" the INSTALL.EXE file. Everything else needed will be auto-filled.
Now it should be on your main DBGL library window. Just double-click and GG

Thank you Lucid!!! Your solution worked perfectly!!! Also, just a random note, you have to install Java Version 8 Update 45 in order to get DBGL to run.

I've downloaded "DosBox". I created a directory in c: called oldgames.
There, I copied the folder "torin". After that, I launech DosBox.
Z:\ appears.
1) Type z:\ mount c c:\oldgames
2) Type c:
3) Type cd torin
4) Type sierrah
And it works!

I was able to run Torin's Passage on Windows 7 64-bit:
1) Download Torin's Passage zip from this page
2) Download DBGL (DosBox Game Launcher) it's basically DosBox with a GUI front-end, which is nice - http://members.quicknet.nl/blankendaalr/dbgl/#download
3) Unzip DBGL, and run "Launch.exe"
4) Within DBGL, select the "Add Game Wizard" icon
5) In the dialog box, enter the name for the title, in this case, I highly suggest typing "Torin's" - more on this in a second.
6) Make sure "Has to be Installed (from the original source media)" is selected.
7) Click "Next"
8) Now since you entered "Torin's" you'll be brought to a list of games to select from. I have NO IDEA what this does, but I selected "Torin's Passge 1995 DOS" from the "MobyGames Browser"
9) Now, you must navigate to the unzipped directory of the Torin's passage download from step 1.
10) Navigate to "SIERRAH.EXE" in the Torin's passge directory, and select next.
11) Take a walk down memory lane
YOU ARE ABLE TO SAVE GAMES WITH THIS METHOD THEY WILL BE SAVED INT HE TORINS PASSAGE ROOT DIRECTORY.

There are several hilarious easter eggs in this game including (But not limited to,) a picture of Elvis over a fireplace, and Al Lowe himself frozen in a block of ice

Al Lowe of "Leisure Suit Larry" fame designed this as a game which had the same brand of slapstick/wry humor as the Larry series while being clean enough for young children and adults to play together. It worked, and is well worth the download for children of ALL ages.
