If anyone has the problem of game crash or activation issues just like me, you might try this pill (at your own risk). It works for me at least. Just forget about the skidrow or the nocd file on this website. I've uploaded the fix patch [mirrored on this page by admin] (https://drive.proton.me/urls/0GF7BB1M04#l2k0bwXVZfLe）

You still need to install the game, then unzip and replace everything (especially the bin folder) in your game and run the game as p3d.dat. You might also need to install this outdated Phyx 9.12.1031 driver (https://steamcommunity.com/app/9460/discussions/0/882964676320793928/?l=english&tscn=1356924633)

it launches shows the menu for 2 seconds and then crashes this is after I completed the first mission is there a fix for this?

Just a heads up, it seems Windows Defender is triggered by the No-CD, though Malwarebytes shows it as clean. What triggered Defender was the heuristics analysis detecting obfuscation, probably a way to stop the game's DRM from "phoning home" and doing what Tride has experienced.

I'd say this is very likely a false positive trigger that the AVs on Virustotal found, many games from the late 00's and early 10's have very intrusive DRM that will not only check for the DVD but also connect to authentication servers online, and this game being Russian I am guessing comes with the dreaded Starforce or a similar one like SecuROM, so don't be surprised if your AV triggers alarm bells. These No-CDs will either be detected as "Crack" on the AV if said AV has the proper definitions, or it will just have the flagging of the file being a heuristics result, which is common in false positives.

TL;DR, in doubt, try running the game sandboxed or in a VM before comitting to running on bare metal.
