As for me...
Game is Unpleyable with flickering texture, no matter the version...
But if someone wants to play on any version that has that Starforce DRM...
I recommend to download the Indie Gala Installer, Copy game.exe, uninstall game, then install desired version and paste copied exe file, It will work as intentended but may not fix flickering textures issue

Was anyone able to solve the screen shake problem after picking up the wrench? On my PC the shakes are unbearable at 60fp, almost tolerable at 40fps and gone at 30fps.

Another one of those games that I wanted to play but I can't because it doesn't work properly on modern OS. Like, during the gameplay, the game itself lags from time to time, but then again, when I'm picking up medkits or taking damage, my screen flashes black or white, obscuring the vision. And yes, I tried to fix it by the same method that is written on PC Gaming Wiki but it doesn't work for me. So yeah, it feels like I have to get another PC, so I can use my current one for old video games and install Windows XP back to it.

For the people having the screen shake problem, I think the problem might be with the framerate being too high, go into the video section in the options menu and turn on vertical synchronisation, that fixed it for me.

I was able to start and not crash after i pick up a medikit. but unfortunately some floors appear completely black. does anybody have some tips for that?

Anyone else having A jittery screen? When I play it for some reason the screen shakes when I'm moving the mouse around. It could also be a problem with just trying to run it on modern hardware. And no turning down graphics doesn't help at all. Anybody got a fix for it?

Indie Gala Installer downloads, installs and plays fine on WIndows 10.
No issues found. No fixes needed. Saves and reloads etc.
It is an OK game so far. The grimy Russian setting lends it some atmosphere.
Cheats are easy to find online but none of them work so far other than health. Can type ' to enter text screen, then "set_clients_health 99" and enter. Type ' again to go back to game. Sometimes need to do this a few times but it does work. Can change the number but 99 is max so why would you want less?

I was digging in the game files and I found a line says multiplayer and it's supposed to be placed above options tab in the main menu, the game was supposed to have multiplayer also there was sprint codes and numbers which also means the game was going to have a sprint feature but IDK why is it not enabled or used

UPDATE: I don't know what happened, but Windows was going crazy with this game. I don't know what caused it, but Windows 10 ran so unbearably slow, that I had to restart my computer TWICE. I never had that issue ever with downloading stuff from abadonware. I ended up deleting the files of the game, and it fixed it. I honestly don't know if I did something wrong, or not. I would be aware of downloading stuff like this. The game ran really well, but I couldn't keep it on my computer for long, as it caused terrible performance issues on Windows 10. Just be careful, and if you do intend to play it, remove it after you're done with the game.

This game is really easy install, but in the setup wizard, it requires you to download Adobe Acrobat Reader 7? I don't know if its required to in order to function or not. It seems sketchy, but I have found no issues, or viruses so far.

Aside from compatibility issues, and less variety of enemies and slow pace gameplay and limited modability
I give this game 8/10
amazing soviet atmosphere and vibes, lore is great and gunplay is satisfying
it's like mixing half life 2, STALKER, Cry of Fear and Bioshock together

Up until discovering this game on MyAbandonware, I had not heard of it previously. After hearing that some people weren't fans of it back when it was released, I was hesitant at first to try it. But man, this is one heck of a hidden gem! Not only do you have stellar horror elements, you have some seriously solid FPS selections the further you get into the game. And if you are a fan of Soviet-era arcitecture and unique enemy designs, then you won't find a finer example in gaming. This is an absolute must play, get it downloaded ASAP!

Honestly a genuinely interesting little game. Don't really recommend playing it on hard, enemies are too tanky.
